Indash TV

Hi guys,

Trying to look for a in dash TV for the S I only know that kenwood released a model which can clear the dash when the unit comes out other then that I cant think of any other brands. Anyone here can help me out. My current Pioneer unit doesnt clear the dash completely :(.

Search is your friend man.

No in dash screen will work.... I believe not even the kenwood, as the gearknob will inevitably get in the way anyway.

There is always the JVC single din headunit with built-in dvd screen as an option, but it requires the radio door to be constantly down whilst viewing a movie on a 2" screen.

The only other alternative is a JDM dash bezel and cut a hole in your dash and mount a TV screen in your dash. Has been done in Oz here atleast 4 times I know of now. Always another option to consider if you like the idea of hacking your dash up to fit a 6" screen.

You can always get a sunvisor with monitor or a rear view mirror with built in TV.

I agree. My IVA D300 was awesome. Watched a few movies in the first fortnight of having it..... then just used it to hold 900 MP3's.... and watched maybe 5 movies for the remaining year I had it.

well i decided to keep mine simple and run the JVC KDAVX 2 dvd unit.
it is true that you dont use video as often as you think.
maybe for the first few weeks and then its audio all the way.

i enquired lifestyle store about installing a tv/dvd unit into the S similar to the way its mounted in the jdm s2000 and they wanted something around 1700 installed.

imo, id rather put that $1700 towards an exhaust or ITB's for some vtec orchestry...

$1700. **** that. I'll hack my own dash and install my own tv screen. $80 JDM bezel, $500 screen and I'm set.

I woulda told them they can go **** themselves and walked out. haha.

true dat.. the whole TV thing is really just for show.. because when u drivin it not like u can actually watch anything even with the one in the visor.. what are the chances that u will get to actually watch a full movie.. i reckn the only time u even get to see a few moments of what evers on is when youre stuck in traffic..

a screen can serve several purposes if you need it, other then watching movies, music videos, or managing in-car entertainment.

if you've got a carputer, you can see (almost) realtime datalogging, and review after each run. Also have monitor resolution will enable you to view several sensor outputs at once with less property then having several guages.
Also can be used as GPS.

I was planning on doing the same thing but i ended up purchasing a new jdm dash with all the bezel and brackets required which should be arriving this week fingers cross :)

Yep Spoon gets original honda parts from honda Japan if that makes sense ie cheaper

Jdm bezel,jdm dash with the cut out already, brakets to hold the navigation unit or deck. jdm box?
