Just to make sure which TypeR steering wheel you have ek9 or dc2R?

can't you just unplug it? 2 screws (may be tamper screws) unplug neg- terminal first for 'in case' and take it out???
As for the towbar you can probably remove it with a lot of time and tools w/o taking the rear bar off, I've almost done it once took me 1 hour then got ****ed over but some dumb**** who didn't know how to put a washer under a nut.

LoL... how can i just unplug it man, i need to know where all the screws are and to take it out without deploying the airbag!!! Maybe unpluging the neg terminal would help...

Geez, is it gonna be that hard to take off that shitty tow-bar??? Damn bro, i didnt realise it was gonna be that hard lol!!!

I'll see what i can do but it'll help if someone had some sort of diagrams or instructions for both things!

Cheers.

it HAS to be a EK9 wheel.
A DC2R wheel will not fit at all (different spline size!)

to take the steering wheel off

1. Remove battery first
2. remove the 2 screws behind the wheel
3. the centre airbag will come off, unplug the plugs to the airbag
4. Unscrew the middle screw than the wheel should come off.

That should be all the steps but try searching

to take the steering wheel off -

*OZHONDA TAKES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS*

remove neg. terminal on cars battery. Wait a few minutes.
Then get a flathead screwdriver , and pry open the 2 x access panels on the sides of the steering wheel. These give you access to the 2 x TORX screws you need to take off to take out the SRS unit - there is a yellow loom for the SRS and a couple of wires for the horn. Be careful and dont break it.
After the SRS / airbag unit is out get a 14mm socket piece and undo the central hub bolt. slide the wheel off and install the new wheel in opposite.

hmmmm... that gives me a much better idea about the wheel!!! I'm just too scared to stuff up the airbag, especially on the new wheel... LOL!

Now, to the tow-bar - anyone knows how to remove that?

Cheers guys.

towhook isnt too hard - you need a few socket sizes and an extension to reach inside the bumper and it comes off.

I used a impact gun and it came off in about 3 minutes. Be careful of rust and crap that will fall down into your face and eyes !

OK GUYS, i got my type R steering wheel here with me now... It looks sweeeeeeet...

Now, help me please to install this on when i take off the stock wheel. Is there a specific way to do it or is it straight forward thing to do? Also, i noticed that the airbag thing is off already on the type R, why is that? or is it meant to be off and i screw on it on when i put it on the car?

Im confused :( sorry guys!

The steering wheel is 2 peices, you got the wheel and then the SRS unit which has 2 bolts holding it in behind the wheel.
Take the old one out and chuck the new one in should take under 5 minutes providing you have the right tools (reverse order as taking it out)
oh for safety reasons always have the battery disconnected before plugging/un-pugging any srs related plugs. those things can be deadly

Not really bro, the EK9 momo SRS Steering Wheel is different than a normal EK SRS steering wheel. The size, the airbag, the look, etc... are all different! I cant just take the old one and put it in the new one, different SRS sizes.

Now, i managed to install the wheel successfuly all by myself and it was easier than i thought so. However, i discovered later on that the new EK9 wheel does not come with the SRS inflator as i was trying to connect the SRS plug :(. In other words i got ripped off a lil and the airbag is useless now in other words if its not connected.

I have messaged the guy to send me the inflator from ebay as it didnt state anything about it in the auction but i havent heard from him yet. I need the inflator to complete the wheel as a whole!!!

NOT HAPPY :(
