Hi All,

I'm hoping there are enough CTR owners out there that may be able to help with my problem or perhaps even a Honda employee lurking around ;-)

Picked up my shiny new CTR last week and had the HIAK fitted by Honda. The problem is that when you plug your iPod (60Gb so it is compatible)in it disables the iPod clickwheel and you can only navigate the iPod via the Honda stereo. Most of you are probably thinking great what's he complaining about?! Well, the honda radio only displays the first 5-7 playlists on your iPod and doesn't display track names :thumbdwn: The only way I have figured out to play what I want via the iPod is to select the playlist first, press play on the iPod and then plug it into the CTR. I understand this is probably a safety feature but how do you disable it? After doing some research I found there are some kits out there that have a physical switch on them, playlist mode which is what mine is doing now and direct mode which allows you to control your iPod via the clickwheel AND control it via you Honda stereo. I'm unsure as to whether or not my HIAK supports this. I've put a call into Honda and I'm awaiting a response. I've also taken my car back to have the installers look at it so I'll let you know the outcome. Anyone else bumped into this yet?

oops, i need to read before i post.

check this out mate - http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=72694

Yeah - if you read the manual you'll see you need to create new playlists called Hondax where x is a number from 1 through 7...

play list 8 is just a shuffle of what i presume is ALL of your 60Gb (or 30Gb) of music... also needs to be a 4th or 5th gen ipod, or ipod mini..

I got the guys at honda prahan service checking out another "aftermarket" type of adapter, which i presume is the ice adapter. They have offered to pull my dash apart and try out the other one, i've told htem to try it out on a ctr that they are actually working on to save their and my time....

I'll let y'all know how it goes...

It'd be ace if you could use both clickwheel and stereo controls....

Yeah that would be good...let us know what they say..because I don't really want to have to bring my car in and then the conversion is no different.

Just a quick update, I have called Honda twice now and both times I have been told that someone is going to call me back. I'll give them to Friday to call me back otherwise I'll be going further up the food chain...
