My poor baby is gone.
Was invovled in a 5 car pile up last week and I was slap bang in the middle.
I had spent so much blood, sweat and money on my car and some fool who didn't think of stepping on the brakes destroyed it one go...

Here's some pics

I got more damage than what it appears.
At the rear the chasis is crinkled and fuel tank been pushed in, both sides are crumpled as well.
At the front the radiator and power steering is gone. Intake is damaged as well. I have leaking engine oil, but not sure where from at the moment...
I can't get the bonnet open so haven't had a chance to have a good look yet...

looks like your car didnt have the front n rear reinforcement bars ( stock on EGs - but when repaired dodgy repairers leave OUT these necessary parts )

Better luck next time , as to not sit on some ones ass.

yup yup - my 1st EG was written off the exact same way. I was 3rd in a pile up , the 1st 2 cars hit and i pulled around to avoid but got hit in the back by a minibus and pushed me into the car infront :(
No reinforcement front/rear = writeoff

the responsiable person should have insurence...but for a car that had conversion....the insurance company wont pay as much as the value of the car.....isnt it?

EK Civic R

Yea, the lady's insurance will be paying for it, but I don't think I will be getting anywhere near what I would like..
Oh wells..

I should have some parts up for sale shortly...

Looking on the upside, I'm on the hunt for a new Euro... keke
Was planning on it, but didn't expect it to be so soon..

If u ve done an engine conversion. Eg.B16A...into EG5. Will the insurance company recover the total value of them, or just quote on the EG5 with original D series engine?

EK Civic R

I have B18C conversion, and I've been informed they will ony cover for original D series engine.
I'm just hoping that I can buy the car back or keep it.
A friend of mine wrote his car off and they paid him the market value and let him keep the car. Apparently if the car value is pretty low the insurance company don't bother taking it away.

civic are 4 x 100 but for this one it has had a brake conversion to JDM 96 spec ITR brakes which are 4 x 114.3.

Leprechaun:
You can get those rims from the Trader Yanaka Auto Parts http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=63260

my car got into a sandwiched as well, an excel and lancer. the 2 biggest rice mobiles squashed my baby :( but it survived surprisingly, cause we where not going that fast (well the chick behind me was)

i had the reinforcement bars replaced as well, i double checked right in front of the panel beater when i got the car back. they are vital!

I was stuck between a C180 Merc and a fairlane. So it was the smallest of the lot.

I pretty much have all JDM 96 spec Type R gear in my car. But now it is all gone...

Insurance will not cover you car if your car is not registered with that engine and insured with that engine in it. It happened to me once :-( i ask they said need to register the engine and insurance for it to be insured by others insurance to fix it when in an accident. I was told only. Haven't tried.

Yeah, but i might wanna tell ur insurance company. To be safe. Dont mention n e thing bout power increase, just say u got a new engine, its the same size, and give them the engine number if they want it. Dont lie, just ommit
