Just got quoted from dealer for some of the accessories as i didnt really get any in our deal.
Emblem set $104
Floor Matts $242
Front spoiler $834 + $60 fitting
Rear spoiler $834 + $60 fitting
Because i got the paint protection included they are also trying to offer me a upgrade from it but for additional $1600. It covers up to $2000 of paint scratch repair jobs instead of going through insurance. Do you think its worth it cause im hearing alot of comments about the thin paint being easily chipped.
Their also trying to sell me the darkest legal tint which is abit steep seeings as i could get it done cheaper elsewhere but what can you expect from the middle man. Just waiting for them to sell me the kitchen sink now! Anyone else got these prices or was able to pickup some of these goodies for cheaper?

for the tinting, you can take it straight to MING tinting and get a heaps cheaper price. MING are the guys who get contracted to do the HONDA factory tinting. I recent got my em1 done with 20% tints for about $180 bucks. will take them about half a day to do.

Ok well I've got the emblem and floor matts and there great...in terms of front and rear skirts which is what you mean't, I wouldn't worry looks better stock. Although there is one extra you forgot which I would get which is the Wheel-locknuts which you can get for like 40 bucks off your Honda dealer...I'm going to pick some up in the next week.

Those prices seen pretty reasonable, I was quoted....
Emblem Set $225
Floor Mats $225
Front Skirt $895
Rear Skirt $895
I rang around probably five different dealerships and was quoted some very different prices, so it definately pays to do your homework in that respect. The problem for me is that being from Tasmania, there is only one dealership in Hobart with no competition. Having said that, some dealerships in Melbourne that I phoned were dearer, and some were cheaper.
Definately purchase your tint from an aftermarket supplier. The only advantage of purchasing it through the dealer is that they warrant the tint themselves, meaning that if the tinting business ever closes down or whatever, your dealership will warrant the tint. But for double the price is this really worth it? NO
In regards to paint protection, if your are enthusiastic about the appearance of your car, i.e. use good quality equipment and clean your car regularly they it is a waste of time, whereas if you only wash your car say one a month through the car wash and want your car to look 'ok' in a years time then paint protection is a good idea
Taken from Detail Paradise.....
I am buying a new car, should I get "Paint Protection" from the dealer?
This is a very difficult one for us to answer as we do not sell "Paint Protection" products so we can be called biased in our opinion. All we can say is, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is, lifetime warranties are often full of very complex clauses, the profit margins at the dealer on these products are huge which is why the dealers push them so hard. If you were to spend $1000 - $2000 dollars on premium car care products over the time you own your car we can say that it will look just as good and more probably a whole lot better than if you relied on "paint protection" products.
Finally, in regards to the front and rear skirt, it depends on the colour of your car. If you are buying black, then the skirts don't stand out a great deal and in my opinion only are not worth the money, whereas if you are buying a red or silver car, then I really do recommend buying the skirts, they provide a great contrast and give the car a more aggressive stance. Most importantly, the rear skirt makes the rear end look not so damn huge.

When you buy paint protection or scratch repair protection, all you are paying for is insurance. The paint protection itself is a sealant, that costs no more than $150 to apply. But the remainder is for the insurance and into the dealer's pocket. As with every other insurances, there is always a loophole that is exploited by the dealer to get out of covering any damage. For paint protection, you must use their own recommended shampoo and you cannot wax or polish your car. You probably can't even use quick detailer spray on your car.

good post philbo and aaorng
totally agree with both
Here in adelaide:
dealer 1: $43,810 onroad
$249 - floor matts
$149 - luggag area protector
$210 - front and rear mud guarde set
$589 - rear parking sensors
$528 - ipod adaptor
$937 - 8 CD changer
$697 - blue tooth phone system
$60 - wheel lock nut set
$309 - sun shade set
$37 - rear boot lip protector
$297 - accent lighting set - red
$129 - organiser box
$198 - emblem set
$878 - front skirt
$878 - rear skirt
$308 - front bumper trim
$309 - rear bumper trim
$649 - door trim
Dealer 2: $43,825 onroad
$245 - matts
$269 - accent lighting - red
$129 - organiser box
(didnt manage to get a quote for the rest)
both have a $312 charge for metallic or pearlescent paints (this incl stamp duty).
i am planning to get accent lighting, matts and possibly the wheel lock nut set. still deciding about emblem set and organiser box. The luggage protector is not too bad if ur gonna be carrying fluids in ur boot, it has a lipping that keeps fluids in if there is any spillage but its prolly annoyingly in the way when u flip ur back seats down.
havent decided which dealer to go with yet coz none of em are giving me freebies and also hanging out to see whats happening with the 3rd gear issue.
hope it helps dude!

Here sir. And I'm very unhappy with it. Not only did the installers via my Honda dealer fail to replace the plugs on my my pillar cover (which now sticks out and flaps around - getting fixed tomorrow) the sound only comes out of the front left hand speaker. The installer seems to think this is normal - I don't. I have made 2 calls to Honda this week with no response. Unless it is rectified this week I will it removed and I'll be asking the Honda dealer to fit and pay for one that does work to how should - through all the speakers. BTW, you have no control whatsoever of the the bluetooth kit with your steering wheel controls.

u should not call them... go straight to the dealer (with mates who has big muscels will add more chance!!!) and ask their responsibility regarding this...

i've had someone ask me the contact details of MING. so i thought i might as well share it with everyone.
MING Tinting / Motorone Group
16 Duffy Street, Burwood
03 9888 8777
i had a few problems with bubbles in the tinting on the drivers side, but they quickly fixed it without hesitation. very happy with the service. you get a lifetime warranty with the tinting, but it is only valid for the original owner or the individual who 'purchased' it.

Lol! Honda did call me back today and confirmed that a) the iPod adaptor kit will and continue to disable your iPod clickwheel so that's going to be removed and credited. Looking at this instead:
http://www.ipodcarkitdirect.co.uk/iPod_Car_Kit/For_Factory_Fitted_Radios/Honda_iPod_Car_Kit/Dension_Honda_iPod_Car_Kit/Honda_iPod_Ice_Link_Plus_Adapter
b) the bluetooth kit is not faulty. Honda have designed to come out of the left hand speaker. Great design guys ;) This will also be removed and replaced with a Sony Ericsson which does produce sound out of all of the speakers. Another quirk I found with carkit is that when you turn the key off it disconnects your call when you are talking to some one! My old Sony Ericsson never did that.
Heads up boys (& girls?), the Honda iPod Adapter and Bluetooth Carkit are very limited and I do not recommend them.

That is a shame...probably dont recommend removing it because that mod ipod adaptor is leaving ipod in the open..more so than the current one. You gotta really wonder whether it is worth removing it just so you can use the clicker wheel..just create more playlists. Weird about that bluetooth thing.
Hi guys,
Just wonder what is the best price melbournian got for their CTR ?
As me plan to pick up one real soon ...
Thanks in advanced ya ...
