Hi,

I have a few issues with my throttle body and intake manifold. I have a couple of options but need the following answered,

Does a DC2R throttle body fit directly on a VTiR intake manifold no issues?

Does a DC2R intake manifold bolt up directly on the VTiR head?

Does the DC2R manifold have the IACV like the VTiR manifold - interchangable part?

Thanks in advance

Jko

1. not sure its upside down.
2. NO the head stud is different

u can fit a itr t/b on the vtir manifold with 2 options
*swap the ear bit where the cable hooks on to from the vtir to itr
*or use itr throttle cable and make a bracket for cable

intake manis arent interchangable

IACV are interchangable ... notice they look abit diff but is same ..

im using a vtir IACV on a itr intake mani

It takes about 10 mins a piece of aluminium, a file and a vice to make up a new cable stay to use the stock vti-r cable. Thats what i did anyway, works a charm

What is preventing the Type R manifold from working with the VTiR motor? I keep getting conflicting responses from here and respected mechanics.

Some say yes, some say no....

You have two different heads. ITR mani wont fit up with the vti-r.

"bennjamin" WAT IS UPSIDE DOWN???
VTI-R manifold fits B18c2
TYPE-R manifold fits B18c5 and B16a/b

sorry for the missunderstanding but i hope ur not saying that the stock b18c2 manifold is same or similar as TYPE-R but mounted upside down.

sorry its a figure of speech. Its not actually upside-down , its the design of the inlet manifold of the B18c2 with varible length intake runners for better mid range apparently. Still , it will not fit a AUDM B16a or B18c7 head.

oh good, yes i know about the b18c manifold (snailshell) long and short runner with quad butterflies on the short, yes it is to help with mid range around 5k and it makes sure there is a steady climbing torque curve. it is also a good idea to dissable the short intake butterflies or better yet remove completly if doing h/e and airfilter, better for cams also.

as stated above p72 heads wont take any other intake manifold.

unless aftermarket.

I recommended you change the vtec cross over point to slightly higher if converting your IM.

Yes i agree, the standard crossover point is a little low, again all to do with torque curve, personally i raise it to about 5000-5400 with vafc or field or similar even if running standard manifold
