dc2r boot brace

hey guys, in the boot of the dc2r, is there meant to be a brace going along the back of the boot (behind the taillights). if so, is it meant to on top of the plastic? i just got one but there are no holes in the plastic that will line up with the holes for the bar. anyone help appreciated!
