Hi y'all!

Name: Mark
Age: 21
Occupation: Errr... officially its: Software Engineer... self employed.

I've just put in my order for the 8th gen civic a couple of days ago. Black auto Civic Vti. A nice upgrade from my first car (ford festive yuck!)

Really looking forward to it arriving, tho it might take till November to be built/arrive.

either way I'm planning on keeping it pretty stock except for a few things:
- New rims
- Tints
- Lowered by a couple of inches. (how low before needing to replace stock sussies?)
- Minor cosmetic changes (front lip etc)

Options that are coming with the car are:
- Rear parking sensors
- Trim set (silver)
- Led lighting inside around feet area
- Bassworks sound updgrade (not having high hopes... but it should be decent for my purposes)
- exhaust pipe finisher - chrome

So yeah thats about it. I'll post pics up when it arrives here.

OzHonda is great... been reading it for a while. Members seem to be pretty friendly too!

And before Nikki asks, yes i am hot... but I'm also married. So there, don't ask.

Hahaha, thanks for the welcome(s) guys. Pleasure to meet y'all.

I don't know alot about cars really (mechanically), but I've certainly learnt a few things here on OH. I think the biggest mod I'd ever do would be a CAI. But this will have to wait a long time I think.

Definitly this is one of the sites I can't help but checking it 3+ times a day.

Hey Nikki,

yeah being married under 25 seems fairly uncommon. We've been married now for almost 11 months and it's going better than I could have hoped for :D

Yeah, sorry I didn't mean to be rude/condescending to ya with that last comment about my apparent 'hotness'. Thought I'd be different from everyone and pre-empt your question :P

Hi Mark, great intro. Curious to know what size and style rims you've got planned for the vti?

Hi Mark, great intro. Curious to know what size and style rims you've got planned for the vti?

Thanks Sensei. I'm not sure about the width or offset choices, but in terms of size I'd be going 16" I think. I read that there's a noticable drop in comfort level with 17s (and the noticable performance hit with larger rims). The car will come with standard 15" steels. Not sure about styles tho, what would look good with a black civic? I'm embarassed to say it, but the bob jane t-mart place has some nice looking rims atm. Obviously I don't know much :P

Welcome Mark :)

THanks!

Yeah, but as you can expect life styles have to change when you commit yourself to one person. And with the change of life styles so do your friends. And even though I'm still friends with the same people, I'm finding myself become better friends with other relatively young married couples (25-30yr olds). Which unfortunately means i'm more distant from my uni/school friends.

Hmmm...I guess it depends on whether you prefer looks over EVERYTHING else...hehehe

16s would be a bit on the tiny side for the new Civics, IMO 19s are a minimum to fill teh guards but whatever floats your boat. Theres a member on here (visconti) with 19s on his NHBP FD1 (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=64867) & it looks dead sexy:

Have a look around and see what you'll be happy with (price/comfort/ride/looks). Just don't be too hasty in making a decision & you better post some pics when you do get the new shoes :)

Thats one awesome looking civic!!

One thing that would dictate how large I go would be the suspension issues related to it.

I'd prefer not to change the stock sussies. So by lowering it by a couple of inches it's going to be noticably more uncomfortable especially with 17s? Then again I might not notice it as I've driven an el piece 'o crap for almost 4 yrs.

It all depends on what suspension you go for. Naturally riding on 19" rubber will be harsher than 16", but you can compensate a bit by going with a quality coilover setup or some really good shocks and springs to suit your comfort.

I'm not familiar with civics but I'm sure you'll find heaps on info in the civic section on who's tried what...& ask them how they like it

Ok, so I thought I'd bump my intro thread as my car is nearing delivery.

I have a question... the car with the extras we got was 27k. We paid a 2k deposit. And it's getting close to the stage where I have to get the car loan (we're pre-approved). Now we're probably gonna have about 4k cash to go towards the car before we get the loan (so.. would only need a 21k loan).

The exterior of the civic is stock vti (no lip kit/alloys/anything). I am SOOOO tempted to take out the 24/25k loan instead so that I can use the extra cash for a full painted and fitted mugen (it might be replica .. meh) body kit. Thats all 4 lips and the rear spoiler. Also included are foglights and mugen grille. And lower it while I'm at it... tho it will still be living with the stock steelies for a bit. It'll cost 2.7k all up.

We're planning on having the car for a very long time to come (either buy my wifey a small hatch later and i keep a riced civic... or wifey gets riced civic and i get new larger sedan later).

What would you guys do in my shoes? Should I take the smaller loan, and only get the bodykit in a yr or two (if I ever get to it)... or should I go ahead and get the bodykit fitted within a week or two of having the car? (But will have larger loan to repay) ;)

This is what the kit looks like.
