I had this problem with my single 12" Sub... it used to bang around corners :)

My fix was buying a big twin 12" sub box which weighed about 50kg's and it was too heavy to move much, worked well.

If you want to keep your existing one, just put a screw through the box and the chipboard covering the spare tyre.

i did that before it worked for a while until the screws started moving with the board, so i have like a hole which is 3x the length of the normal hole.

what i did was take my spare tyre out and chuck the sub in there and it fits perfecally with my amp in there as well so it just doesnt move at all.

get a rear strut brace and tie the sub to it

my idea is... which i plan to do when i have time and money.. cos im broke.lol is...

1.buy a big piece of that wood stuff underneath the carpet
2.cut the wood so it fits the boot exactly, allowing it to lift up and down, like most modern cars have.

-OPTIONAL STEPS-
i)buy new boot carpet of some kind and cut to size
ii)attach it to the existing slots (somehow)

3.get some adhesive and stick the carpet to the wood. ;-)

&& if u wanna make the rear peice removable, just cut the carpet at a appropriate place between the boot and the rear of the rear seats leaving some excess carpet so u cant see where the carpet ends as it is tucked..

I'll prob get around to trying it after my trials. or HSC, if i can be bother. then i'll post my very first DIY :D:D (yes,im feeling proud atm LOL)

What I did is I got some mdf, cut it out to the same size as the original piece, then cut it down the middle and put some hinges on it, then screwed the sub and amp down. I also screwed the mdf to that metal brace thingy that is just under the rear seats. Your sub and carpet doesn’t move and you can still get to your spare.

I cut out a piece of MDF to fit the exact shape of the floor (half of it anyway) and since I have a rear strut, I have used straps from Bunnings to wrap around the sub box and the strut bar.

I am now selling my setup... you can buy the piece of MDF off me if you want, after I sell my sub and amp. I also carpeted it black on the top side so it blends in with the rest of the boot floor.

p.s. my amp is also bolted onto the MDF so it works for two things, to sit the sub onto, and bolt the amp into place.

the covers screwed down to the car.. haha
no ones gonna take my sub unless they take the car

I took out my spare tyre and put the sub and box in the well
it sits just nicely wedged behind my spoon rear strut bar
