Hey guys, have been hunting around for a 2nd set of wheels for sometime now, and have come across some 5.5kg 15 x 6.5 " rims. Firstly my car is a weekend street car that sometimes visits the drags. My build i have a goal for 200 - 250 wkw out of an eg sedan chassis. I have not goan all out with weight reduction on my car either, (if that helps?)

Got a few questions,

what is the widest semi/slick tyre you can fit on a 15 x 6.5inch wheel ?
should this be sufficient for my car and power goals for street and strip?
or would it be best getting say a 15x7.5 or 15x8 + wider semis? (size?)(worth with or noticeable diffence? or minimal?)

best running a wider & heavier rim + more tyre grip? or thinner and lighter rim + less tyre grip?

I think that is about it for the moment,

thanks in advance guys

If its for a street car then whatever you get is going to be a compromise between weight and durability. For instance a set of drag specific race wheels are VERY light and save a huge amount of weight. In your case I'd go for something in 15" because there are heaps of tyres available in that diameter and will give you more options. Depending on how much street use the car would see I'd look at some BFG Drag Radials. A 15x6.5" rim will be plenty big enough to get a decent tyre on there for your purpose.

Yeh basically i will deffinately be going a 15inch, but its the width i am not sure about? will a 15 x 6.5 Inch Rim + semi slick (max width 205 Correct it wrong?) or would i need to go something wider like a 15 x 7.5 + 225 tyres or more? ( but since the rim itself is wider it would weigh more ?)

to suit 200 - 250 wkw in a eg sedan + an extra 60kgs (give or take) of stereo in boot (very hard to remove, basically incorporated into the car)

ALso anyone got any reccommendations on what semi slicks to use for drag / street setup? rough figure on price and were to get purchase in brisbane area?
