hi guys. pulled into my local shell servo today, realising that they have a new addition to their fuels. it is the V-Power Racing with 5% Ethanol. I was really tempted with fueling up my car with it, but instead went with the standard V-Power. although there is a massive difference in price. Standard ULP was 119.9 and V-Power Racing was 152.5

so im just wondering would it be OK for me to use this on my Euro?

This is the million dollar question....
Is the fuel going to benefit me without compromising power and efficiency and will it do any damage to my car, over a long period of time ?

Would be interested in Aaronng's opinion on this ?

If the world wasn't so unstable regarding oil then I doubt ethanol would have ever entered the scene.

Hope this helps :)

but me personally if i could run my car with jet fuel I would, only the best for my car Mobil synergy 8000 is what I use

honda says you can use up to e10 on the Euro so it is safe to use. I think you are better off sticking with 98 ron though given the price premium here. I also think it is unlikely you will see any performance benefit. I found the Euro liked the Mobil 8000 or BP Ultimate best.

As yfin says you can use up to E10 in the Euro with no problems. But i think the price diff. between the V power with 5% ethanol and 98RON is too much to justify.

i thought they stopped vpower racing... well all those shell station near my place which used to hav vpower racing, so some reason they never avaliable anymore.

from what i remember they are 17c above normal price, whilst 98ron are 10c

You can use up to E10 like what Yfin said. But in my opinion, there is no point using 100RON in the Euro as it is tuned for 95. I use 98 so that in case of a bad batch of fuel, it is still above the minimum requirement of 95RON.

Also, adding ethanol to fuel slightly increases fuel consumption because ethanol releases less energy when burnt.

while completely unnecessary yes it is 100% safe to use according to honda.

ethanol is fine in newer cars and it is actually quite common in overseas markets

The price diff.of 7 cents/ltr.kills any advantage you MAY get going from 98-100RON,not to mention E5.i can't see any reason why you'd use this fuel.stay with 98.
