Hey guys

I know the EG speakers come in 5.25" and 6.5" but was more worried about the depth of it. Don't really want too much troulb with the install, was thinking the Focal slimline range. What splits are you guys running in your EGs with no spacers?

sup dude, do u mean ur running 6.5" at the fronts? cause i tried puttin in my Focal's up front and didnt fit, i later realised that the focal's are 6.5" and the mounting is only 6". i then decided to set em' up back in the parcel shelf. my focal's are splits but havnt yet installed the tweeters, have to make some holes in the parcel shelf. up front im running pioneer 6" paper cones. yes i know they may sound dodgy to people, but actually do a great job. i am planning to run focal splits up front, but thats a while away. here are a couple of shots of my focal setup, btw these are the from the polyglass range if u wanted to know>>>

you can fit a 6.5" speaker, with a spacer.

Wow isn't it a bit of a waste to be putting the Focals on the parcel shelf? Yeah just as a thought people are having a bit of trouble with the 6.5" at the front so I guess I'm going to have to go 6".

i got vdo speakers which r 6.5 and they just barely fit in with spacers so yea..
without spacers ur window will hit the speakers. and da depth is short as, the actual civic pre speaker holes r 6.5 vertical and 6" horizontal.

why would it be a "waste" to put them on the parcel shelf? my plan is to run focals all round, does the job for me so its gonna stay there

Nah just saying because people normally run splits at the front & not the back, because we're sitting at the front with our ears pointing forward. Read that on FHRX lol

fair enough, but i want quality rather than doof doof u know. i would like the sound to be coming from all directions, crisp and clear.

Are you planning to run a 2 splits system in your car with 4 tweeters?

It all comes down to personal taste (i.e. there is nothing 'wrong' with wanting sound from the rear) but generally the only time we bother upgrading rear speakers is if you have either surround sound or passengers in the rear all the time. Seeing as you sit at the front and your ears face forwards, spend all your speaker budget on that area (including plenty of deadening and diffusers). ;)

As I say though; everyone is different and some people might want sound coming from behind them. That too, of course, is fine.

i got some 6.5 sound stream picaso's with spacers coz the magnet is too thick it would touch the window with out them. crystal clear sound.

nah no rattling...i just bought some sound deadner sheets gonna install em tomoorow. It should give me more mid bass. i used silicone to seal up tha spacer gabs it works a treat.

12inch pheonix gold sub off a pioneer mono block amp

i had 2 12z in there b4 enough bass to hurt ur ears lol
