Okay so I have been having some trouble with my LS. When I start the car it starts just fine, but if i dont push in the accelerater at all then the car idles really rough around 400-600 RPM going up and down and shaking a bit almost causing the car to stall. It has stalled a couple of times in fact. Normal driving the car goes just fine but pull up at lights or intersection where the car is just sitting still, the idle drops right down to 500 or so and shakes a bit again.

I have done the DIY on this website to clean the IACV out and the TB but it had no affect. I am thinking it is a possible fuel relay issue or something along those lines. Any help would be great.

Have you cleaned your injecters lately?

Pull the intake arm off & see if the IACV is sucking air thru the throttle body on the lower hole at idle, sounds like it is jammed closed or unplugged or something.

Any CEL?

I had been getting CEL for a few months. Both codes showed up as distributor issues so I took it to my mechanic and he scanned it or whatnot then turns out dizzy issues so he replaced that. CEL hasn't come on since but this idle prob has been going for about two months now.

I actually bought some injector cleaner to run through today but the problem seems a bit severe for that to be the issue. I pulled intake arm off today to spray all the throttle cleaner into the TB, wish i had of known to test for sucking then.

Yeah, i had the same problem (along with others) and so i took mine into a mechanic and it turned out that my main ECU Relay was fried! so that got fixed and now its all good! So yeah, it could well be that or as you said, the fuel pump relay. Coz as relays die, they don't just stop, they tend to screw up for a while, causing big or little problems (usually to do with fuel injection) and then eventually just fry and die, which is nearly what happened to me (as my car stalled for no reason 3 times in one day, but for a few months before that, i had the same problem of a low idle and a bit of trouble starting as well)

Okay well i am gonna take off fuel relay and resolder or replace and see how that goes.

So today i started my car and it started as it should, revs up aorund 1500 then slowly decrease. Once it got down to 800 it was a bit rough still but not as bad as it was. I put my finger over the hole in the throttle body for the IACV which was sucking quite strongly and car died when i did this which is normal im pretty sure. The car used to start like this all the time with just occasionally starting with the low idle, so i don't know how it will start each time, any ideas what the problem would be so i can make sure it starts well everytime?

Also i took off fuel relay and all solder joints looked basically as new but i dabbled a bit of solder on a few anyway to make sure but it had no affect so i dont think that is the issue

Well there has been improvement in the situation. Car starts alot better now and it idles fairly smooth at startup. Only mjaor problem now is that the car still idles rough at traffic lights etc. Don't know if i mentioned car was an auto, and it is only really in D and R where the idle gets rough, it isn't overly bad in P. The whole car tends to shake every few seconds whilst sitting at intersection with foot on brake, any reason this would occur?

nickbell, you said that the problem started after you got the timing belt done. just like me and my mechanic kept saying the timing was perfect and that wasnt the problem. But i took it to a Honda specialist in melbourne and he took no time to realise the timing was actually completely out afterall. apparently he took the rocker cover off and then adjusted it. i dunno how it all works, but that fixed it completely. unfortunately this was after id spent hundreds on lost causes tryna fix the problem coz of a dodgy mechanic who dusnt know how to adjust a timing belt properly.:thumbdwn:
