Hi, my Integra DC4 auto transmission blown yesterday on M5, it was a wired experience. I first noticed with a loud bang in the engine, then the oil pressure warning light is on followed by the speedo dropping from 120 to 0 km/hr while i was doing 120km/hr, very strange.

While slowing down, the auto wont select any gears any more. (From a auto that has no tendency of slipping gears and works perfectly)

Anyway I parked the car and did a check of the engine bay, found the transmission fluid is all leaked out, but the engine is fine.

Just wondering whether i should swap the transmission for a reconditioned or to repair my existing transmission, which is the better alternatives and of course cheaper, hey i am still a uni students!

Thanks

Sounds like something let go and punched a hole in your transmission case. Swap it for a reconditioned one or a 2nd hand one from the wreckers.

I recon a drive shaft poped out, most times when a tranny goes you loose 1 or 2 gears, but should be able to select R, unless the oil pump shat itself. weird your engine stalled and oil light came on.

good luck with it.

lol no matter what it is it'll most likely be very expensive, as said above good luck with it.
