Help buying a Civic Hatch

I've been looking around to buy my girlfriend Honda Civic hatch
She loves the look of the 97 (not sure what code that is)

i was just wondering if someone could explain the basic difference between the Cxi, Gli & Vti

i know the Vti has the v-tec but might be a little out of my budget

BUT is it worth paying the extra..? for the Vti or is the base model Cxi "sporty" enough...

I',m sure she doesn't care about kits etc. as i know the main things she'll do is rim and lowering....

any help would be great

I also did my research on red book as far as standard selling prices etc. but it doesn't tell you the BASIC DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MODELS...!

simply

CXi - base model
GLi - simple upgrades - power windows/mirrors etc. as standard..
VTi - GLi + SOHV Vtec motor.. possible sunroof
VTi-R - VTi - But with a DOHC motor, sporter...

GLi will most likely suit her and the budget more, esp with all the basic creature comforts... hope it helps.. cheers
