hi

i am looking at buying a set of wheels and tyres from tirerack in usa as they currently have them in stock (whereas the australian distributor doesnt). i assume wheels are pretty straight forward to privately import but are there any issues with importing tyres (i.e. rubber)?

thanks.

try the search function as i am sure this has been covered before. this post is also in the wrong section.

when importing keep in mind of custom charges, for wheels if it is under $1000AU excluding freight it will be duty free and gst free. So if the wheels will cost more than $1000 then you will incur gst and duty cost on the wheels.
