View Full Version : Tyres hit SOMETHING
My friends had a jazz with 15X7 rims. 44 offset and wearing 205 tyres. His car is lowered too.
He have some issue with rubbing at the back and today he got the guard flipped. After some testing on speed hump with the guy who did the flip, it is all good. However, the rear tyres are still rubbing when crossing a long hump and with two ppl at the back. I was thinking if that the metal and bumper join (where the screw is) hitting the tyres. Any advise?

well it is heavier with 2 people in the back now..
should of adjusted car to suit having full car without scraping by seeing how low it dropped with full car..

yeah it hits where the bumper mounts is either home DIY shaved off that bit or change smaller tyres 195 or so, 44 offset should really tuck inside the rear guards.
not too sure the spring rate but it is not hard plus he is using stock shocker.
Tyres is going to stay(hopefully) as they are not cheap tyres. Yeah the tyres front what I see are tuck inside so I have run out of idea what is happening. He is rubbing with him alone driving very fast on those long speed hump.
How to shaved off the matel and bumper mount? I dont think it can be bend either right? I will put some color wax around the guard and see where exactly it is rubbing for him when he drop off the car.

I havent done one myself, but will do soon as my +25 offset hitting that bloddy screw too. remember its not only the plastic bit, theres also some metal mount that needs to be trimmed off alittle too.

How can you "flip" your guard? Turn it inside out? Do you mean he rolled the guards?

Anyway, I hope he fixes his problems by grinding the offending part off. Otherwise, stiffer springs and a stiffer damper will help reduce the rear travel when going over bumps. (less comfortable and the rear becomes more likely to slide too)

It might also help to not try and launch your car in the air like the dukes of hazzard as well
I have tested it last night.... the tyres actually rubbing the screw and the bumper bar (the screw under the screw which join the bumper bar and metal....) The car drop surprisingly LOW to the bottom area.
