Would it be a bad idea to turbo a 06 civic vti model? or would it be a better idea to sell the car and getting thats more reasonable to turbo? Also in general do these bolt on kits cost under $5k and how much would tuning cost?

really upto you mate, not a bad idea as it would be original. but at the end of the day its your ride. personally i'd rather sell up and get a turbo car or older honda and bolt a turbo cos of the aftermarket parts available.

also remember you'd probably be losing your new car warranty etc

a good tune should cost you about 700-1000 depending on who and what they are tuning

Hmmm - are there turbo kits for the 06+ sedans yet? Or do the 06+ Si (USDM) kits fit the sedans?

If you're ok about voiding your warranty, do it. I would say it would cost about $10g though man. Your looking at the kit, upgraded clutch and flywheel, bigger injectors, engine management and tuning, fuel pressure reg, fuel pump, plus all the other misc stuff.

Don't forget labour too if you don't plan on doing it yourself.

Turbocharging a Honda isn't a cheap excercise is all I'm saying. But for an idea, I'm all for being original. Save up and do it properly, I'd love to see a turbo '06 sedan!

Greddy Kit is only for K20A engines.... (which is Civic sports)
if you have a 06 Vti..... thats a R18A Engine

think its more a case of piecing ur own kit together, be prepared to have to get things modified to fit of just get custom parts made :p

Imo, due to the lack of aftermarket support for these engines, i wouldnt do it.
Unless, you had the money, time, skills and connections to do it all yourself.

also if you haven't noticed, the cylinder head and the exhaust manifold.
is one unit.
yes really, there are not bolts, nuts or studs, on the other side, it's all one piece.
so really, you can't have a turbo manifold.

yes you could .... have to mount the turbo at the end the extractor.. under the car .. which might sound bit crazy but den lots of works need to be done ;)
