i was removing my door panel to see whats up with my powerwindows, i unscrewed everything except the one behind the handle, its on too tight and forcing it will wreck the screw head and wont be able to unscrew at all.

i tried wd40 in hope to loosen it, but didnt help.

any ideas?

Get the right size phillips head screwdriver and you shouldnt wreck the head of the screw.

u can get a manual impact driver from hardware shops. not the electical drills..

its hard to explain, but basically u manually hammer the thing onto the screw and as you hammer, the driver turns, slowly releasing the screw.

around $20 to $30 from a tool shop

but be careful not to damage anything else whilst u hammer. i.e. bending this or that.

that would probably break the plastic.
i don't see why it would be so hard to unscrew, because i'm pretty sure it's just plastic it screws into.

There may be a metal braket behind the door handle (I cant remember exactly but I know there is one lower down). As I said if you get the right size philips head there should be no reason that you cant put a bit of force onto the screw to get it moving without stripping it.

If you end up screwing it up drill the screw with a small drill bit about half the size of the head. I've had to drill a few screw out before.

But try the impact hammer don't hit too hard incase you break the housing area

see this is where a snap on screw driver comes in, I've got a whole set and let me tell you I'll never consider buying another screw driver again, best I've used.

It shouldn't be that tight if it's the screw I think you're talking about, use a bit more force lol

thanks for all the input.
i have a screw driver set and yes its the correct size, all the other screws were easy to take out, i dont know why this particular one is on so hard.
ill try that hammering one.
thanks
