had to re-read it
since ur askin how much spent on INSTALL

i would seriously suggest u to DIY mate
i was first worried that i may stuff something up
but since doing it myself, found it easy n y pay someone for something u can do

so basically i suggest u to DIY
but if u dun wan to waste the time
(trust me, it does take alot longer that u would expect)
thus pay someone

just my 2cents

well im looking to buy 2 x alpine 12inch type x subs and i want to get full potential out of them so depending on the amp i need maybe $2500-3000 but by saying that i want to try and keep everything the same brand,
h/u, splits for front and whatever size speakers for the rear doors, amps and subs, ill probably have 4500$ to spend after buying the 2 subs

that is a huge budget....
i installed all my own gear in a 06 civic off my stock head deck.
and im pumped 142DB on max but is perfect in all ways with response and
no fuzziness what so ever...
all i spent was $2000 just under....
you could get your self an insane system for that amount...
first get your self a optima yellow top battery will stop any problems you have in the future..such as dim lights or a flat battery...
From memory those type r 12inch are 500w each so get your self
the alpine MRD its 1000WRMS mono block
for the speakers maybe the pdx amps are there top range amps....starting from 600 bucks up to 1600 for 4x150 w
you will be pumping out some serous sound...

alright just heard from my mate that type x subs are more used as a surround sound type of sub ( not to sure what he meant ) can anyone confirm this? so im basically looking at type r's or equalivent. im looking to spend around 450$ on each sub so 900$ what would be the best type of subs to get for that price range which will make some huge bass? 2 x 12inch
your opinions would be much appreciated
thanks in advanced

Any specific reason for going 2 subs? Loudness? Show?

I'd go with one $900 (Image Dynamics IDMAX... drool...) sub over 2 x $450 subs but then different people have different preferences.

If you're in NSW then i'd say head over to FHRX Studios.

There is no real need to keep everything the same brand in most cases brands don't offer the complete solution. Focal produce speakers, subs and amp. Same can be said with MB Quart and Boston Acoustics.

ok after going to the local jb hifi and getting some prices for their subs and amps and a little bargaining i got quoted 490$ each for 2 kicker solobaric L7 and about 550$ each for two kicker monobloc to power them. and 290$ for 1farad capactior
three questions:
1. is that a good deal? ( considering he said to come in whenever and can sort a better deal out as they were rough ideas)
2. is there a point in even having a capactior with this system?
3. is there any other sub/amps that would be better then the kickers that i could look at? ( actual model numbers plz )
thanks in advanced

imo you would have been better off going to a specialist car audio store. $2k will buy u some nice gear but so u want to be very sure ur getting the most out of your money.

about the jb hifi gear, ide be quite certain that you will be able to achieve similar results for less or at least be able to buy better brands than kicker if u get some proper expert advice. :)

If your after "huge bass" i wouldnt really go for an IDMAX, ive had one, sounded great but there not really about big bass
i would say go for DD subs but the box they require is usually huge.

If i was in your position, looking at spending around $900 on 2 subs i'd go for 2x Treo Engineering TSX 12.44, Sound great & get really loud

Amp wise look at something like the Digital Designs M1A, you'll really only need a single amp if you make the right choice and it'll be much easier to wire & give the subs the same amount of power.

As for a capacitor, your better of spending your money on an Optima battery
