I have driven my new civic fd1 for around a month now
everything seems to be good except 2 things:
1. The Clutch is too soft
2. The Acceleration response is slow
Any recommendations?
Thanks!

what did you expect? you got the vti shoulda gone sports if you wanted a more 'sporty' feeling car I suppose.
Dodgy methods of making clutch harder to depress, try spray some brake clean onto the hinge bit and see if that hardens due to lack of lubrication :p only a suggestion, I wouldn't do it though

A lightened flywheel should improve response immediately

It's in between the gearbox and the engine.
The clutch is soft because it's a passenger car. It's so normal people who get stuck in traffic don't start complaining of the clutch pedal. Even new high powered cars like the Holden VE SS have a soft clutch.
As for the acceleration response, it is an R-series engine, which runs in a special mode when you drive gently. When you stomp on the accelerator, there are 2 points that cause some lag. First is the electronic throttle, and the second is the i-VTEC switching modes from atkinson cycle to otto cycle mode.
