Over the last 4 days my idle has been ok 80% of the time (1000 rpm),the other 20% it's been sitting on 1500 rpm or way down on like 100rpm and conked out twice...
The only thing that I've I've done is has the air con on high for a few minutes and I once started the car with the air con already on....
Help plz,
Brett :D

looks like your electricity doesn't flow properly. it can be the battery. have you checked the battery, or the terminals?
or can be the dizzy?

Oh s**t.First I had interference in my stereo (6 months),that went now it looks like it's transferred to this! AARRRGGGHHHH!!!!!!
There must be a wire shorting out somewhere...
What a nightmare.

But if I had a short in the car wouldn't I be getting a shock from the chassis?
This was happening b4 when I had interference in the stereo.
Checked the terminals,they look fine.
I think your right that it's an electrical problem because of the problem I had b4.I just don't know where to look for it :(.
It was doing it again this morning,Help...
I think I'll have to take it to my mechanic on monday.

you might want to check the fuses as well, if you've had a short before.

My Civic used to do similar.

1) Its a D series so it should have an FITV. screw the FITV valve back in and give the FITV module a good clean. http://www.emotors.ca/Articles/97.aspx

2) Clean the Throttle Body. Search the DIY section here.

3) Clean the IACV filter, black gunk accumulates in it and causes idle problems. Spray it with throttle body cleaner. Theres a DIY in the DIY section.

ps. Dont turn the Idle Speed screw, its better to fix the source of the idle problem rather than patch it up and muck up the idle system even further. Plus the engine will run better if you give the air/throttle system a good clean
