hey there just wondering if anyone has any DIY on how to put new low beams in the 2006 civic. The manual tells you how but it isnt very clear.
and also what bulbs do you recommend. i was looking at the phillips one the bluevision. Trying to get the euro luxury head light look.

You have to take out the screws in front of the front wheels to access to low beam headlights, then pull the plastic out and you'll see the bulbs, FD civics use HB4 low beam.... the manual should be pretty clear, but I'm sure the DIY HID installation for the FD would show what I mean by taking out the clips on the fender.

The instructions in the manual is crap. It says to take out 2 screws then pull fender back. There is no way you can do that. You have to take out like 7-8 screws to access the low beams

Also agree. I even had a (short-lived) scar from me being lazy and not pulling out more than 5 screws. The only thing I worry about is losing those little bits of crap. Sometimes they just don't want to pop out, and when they do, they go flying off somewhere.

Anyhow, from memory, there's a shortcut through the engine bay if changing front left ... but it requires quite a bit of patience to drop the tank back in.

LOL, i agree with the front left. That stupid white radiator coolant bottle. Took me like 10 minutes to put it back.

left wheel turn ur steering to the right.
then take off the lil plastic clips.
push down the flap thingo..
locate the end cap n all that.
put ur hand in n attempt to remove n reinstall without touching the bulbs glass.. best to have 2 peps.. 1 to hold the light.

if u dont figure it out soon. i might be changing mine soon when i can be bothered. n take pics n stuff..
but dont hold ur breathe~ i dont drive much. so i dont feel the need :)

^yup... it is very difficult to do so without another person holding a light, because you won't be able to see anything... and yea, you might have to take off 5-6 fender clips.

yea it is. From memory you can see the low beam, but not sure if u can reach it. I know the right hand side you can see but cannot reach

how about removing the front grill and bumper? will it be easier for the installation?

You need to get to it from the fender. It is at the most bottom corner of your car. If you lift your bonnet and look down towards the sides, you will see the low beam socket but there is no way you will reach it unless you were gumby

Yeah the BlueVisions replicate HID well if the car has projector headlight. It give a blue cutoff and the light is bright white. Although not as bright as proper HID obviously.

That's how I got my HIDs installed- if you know your way around and you have a place to put the bumper so it won't get damaged, that could work... but I'm inclined to think it'll take alot longer?

Just thought I'd upload this pic for you guys to see- this is what happened when getting HIDs done.

The headlight module appears to just slide in/out very easily.
