A friend of mine reckons the Dc2 Type R airbox is a good upgrade for intake for an EM1. How would this compare to other intakes on the market? Has anyone tried this before? Is there anything I should know about it, i.e problems or getting it to fit.

u need to fabricate it
DC2 airboxes run pod filters from the factroy..
and u can DIY a intake hose on the bottom and make your customer CAI.
i had this on my little EG it did the job.

u need to get the dc2r intake box bracket that goes underneath it to support it just have to tap a 10mm hole into chassis rail to bolt on
or it will wobble like a fat chick
