Considering the price of the OEM brake pads here in Australia, I figured I'll import a set instead to save some money. I have seen some OEM Acura RSX Type-S brake pads from Ebay US and I'm wondering whether these will be compatible with our DC5 Type R. Has anyone tried this before?

How much were they? I just got front OEMs from Honda for $150. I keep the Project Mu B Specs in the rear and change fronts to HC Plus for the track. These were $240 and $320 respectively. Seeing as the DC5R uses the same brakes as S2k wouldn't that be the one to go for? Were RSX-S brakes the same as the AUDM DC5R. The box and diff weren't.

The OEM brake pads are about $80US per set (F&R).

You just need to make sure they're the right ones. I had the wrond Project Mu fronts sent first time. They were for Brembos. Pic below.

If there $150 in AUD
and say 104 USD to your door.. go for the AUD one as you will be sure it fits your car

I'm assuming that's $150 for the Front sets only.

Yep. Fronts at retail from Honda are $150-170 for the DC5R. They talk them up as the beezkneez but they're just a genuine pad. Do you need fronts and rears? I just replaced both @ 60,000kms and the rear were original pads. Fronts were second set.
