Fly brought up something in the other thread thats a pet hate of mine.
I find it really irritating that we've got to stop for 40 mins on a busy night, so a few people can cut sick on the drag strip.

Who here actually enjoys the burnout comp?

I crack up at Grunt Files on Bris31.... its just burnouts!

While I love V8s.... the crowd that gets whipped into a frenzy scares me. And by crowd I mean the women in flannels.

Oh and a few weeks ago on that show, engine bay fire after a big arse burn out.... guy pops the hood.... rushes out of the car... lifts hood and starts trying to put what I suspect an oil fire...

by blowing on it!

LMAO!

Burnouts are fun when you're breaking the rules... otherwise they're boring.

LOVE burnouts! more the better

it might be interesting if you can actually see the car doing it, but from the amount of smoke emmited all you see is lights flashing around, if i wanted that ill just go to a club, wastes time for us who want to get more runs on the night,

:thumbdwn: for me

burnouts at wsid is the most stupidest thing i have seen. It kills a fair chunk of time and most people tend to leave....If there were no burn outs everyone could possibly get an extra 2 runs in. I think its fair considering the fee is $50 bucks to race....not stand around for 45min watching the stupid burn outs.

Burnouts are for the local Woolies car park, not the track.

There a waist of time. WSID should organise a night solely for burnouts for people that enjoy them not on drag nights.

not to mention its usually the same crappy cars that take part in burn outs. ie that stupid tow truck thing!!

if there were ferrari's or lambos doing burn outs then it may be interesting lol

it is shit but it's there to get people doing it there instead of the public road the way the drag strip does

IF they put it on the other end so the interested people can waltz on over there and watch then good... i'll keep watching the drag lane

I say get rid of them.
It's a waste of time & as boring as bat shit to watch.
& I recon if the burnouts had their own night, hardly anyone would go...
Racing is why people got to the drags...
I say let's just have racing.

Hate to disappoint you but a LOT of people only go to see the burnouts. Very sad, but true. When they were on at 9pm there were LOTS of people who would leave immediately after they finished, even though there was still 45min of racing to go.

Now they are at the end of the night these people have to wait around until the end. This keeps the crowd there for longer.

That’s a pretty sad indictment on the average Aussie then...
