No offence, but if you cant figure out where to mount it or how to take off some of the basic trim, I would take this to someone who has a bit more experience as this is fairly basic (essentially it just mounts to the top of the suspension).

i know what you thinking is basic and i know it gos on top of the suspension mount ... but the FD2 have so much trim and is deep inside the engine bay under the windscreen ... just don't wants to just jump in to it and start breaking things... if is as easy as the old civic i would not be asking... :(
^ I know how u feel. I'm too scared to touch it because everything is sooo compact/fitted tightly.

found this rather massive bar under the windshield. it joins the body structure just above the strut mounts. could be used by honda as a strut bar. hence perhaps why mugen or spoon do not have a strut bar on their civics

I saw some online at sgcarstyling but I wouldn't recommend buying from there unless you are sure you know what you are buying.

To the OP, how'd the install go?
I know it's your girlfriends Sport, but can either of you notice the difference in handling?
I'm looking into the Cusco one through JDM Concept for my auto FD1 - I know a few of you guys and girls out there have installed them - what are your thoughts on them? Worth the capital?

Strut bars won't make a big handling difference to a modern car with a stiff chassis.

That is not a strut bar as it doesn't sit on top of the suspension strut. That is a chassis brace.

Okay, thanks for that aaronng. So probably not worth it then? Those that have installed them - what do you reckon?

When I put one on in my car, I couldn't feel a difference when driving at legal speeds and cornering at legal speeds. When cornering at track speeds, I can feel that the suspension is tighter at the front, less sloppy. If you plan to keep your car on the street and never track, then this mod is more for bling and looks. :)

Thanks for the explanation, much appreciated. No plans to track, just a desire to mod the Civic and do a little internal work :p
And if the result would only be bling-factor, then the $300+ dollars for engine-bay bling can be better spent going towards Mugen-Aero-Wing bling
Thanks again.

Ive just ordered myself an Ultra Racing 2 point strut bar for my FD2. Read many forums that this bar actually works (singapore/malay forums) so it made me decide to get this bar. I guess we see then

Thx aaronng, I've learnt so much from you throughout the forum from technical stuff to car cleaning :D
Here's a pic that shows how it't being mounted:
