cant go wrong with the open air driving of a del sol!! I'd swap my integra for one anyday!

that depends on how much you value open air top off motoring and practically ie more than 2 seats and space for your stuff.

I have the seats folded down permantly in my EG ie using it as a panel van almost and the space is amazing. In my ED gen 2 CRX it's frustrating at times I can fit much at the back with the shorter wheelbase and the sloping rear windscreen.

With a delsol with the B16A already in it's certainly not slow as it is and a future B18CR conversion would be very simple too. Comes with 262mm front brakes as well.

I'm getting my car converted from D16A8 to B16A2 by fatboyz pretty soon, with A/C and all other bits hooked up properly, with a view to bolt in a B18C or B20V setup down the track when I have the funds to do it.

well IMO summer is here and i would love to have a drop top crx .. its like a mini s2000 lol b16a2 have potential but an EG with a b18c7 has heaps more potential but i guess u can always put a b18c7 into the crx and get a bit of money selling the b16a2 as well .. hope this helps in your decision

^agreed But also what are your plans for these two cars? u want pure speed,? a delsol is abit heavier then a EG civic, so if u want a faster car over looks and open air go for the eg, but if u want some open air and dont mind much about speed then go for the crx =]

i say go for the EG, i rckn there would be more fun. also in relation to space, more space. incase you sell the EG and u keep the CRX, there are chances of you might start to complain about no space and all that stuff. but yeah, crx are nice,. cruising cars with the top off. b16 has potential but damn man b18 would be a good option too, also it being dropped into an EG, fun for you. =]

but thats just my opinion if i was in your situation, i would recommend that too.

del sol has more appreciation i think due to its rareness and the fact it already has a B16A or greater in some modded cars.

the del sol is more pimp.

egs are over done with converts.

do which project that would suit you more, also what you will need the car for other than speed. yourself for self use as the EG is more space than the delsol.

you can always look for an EG wif the B18cR motor or can mod the b16a in the del sol again its up to personal preference and goals u wanna go for

either one is a good choice but if your looking for a car to do up and fang around get a eg as its light but yeah there are to many so GO the DEL SLO !

del sol really is 'slo' to begin with.... heavier than type-r and eg due to additional chassis supoprt coz of targa.

I'm really curious on how Jason (1.6L) got his down to 900Kg

JasonGilholme

heheheheheheheh

weight reduction baby! :D:D

Compassionate edit: because the del sol was designed as a cheaper sports car it has been literally 'coated' with sound deadening. go around the car and say to yourself "is this neccessary to turn the wheels and can i live without it"

so your saying your entire weight reduction is the sound deadening? either that stuff is real heavy or theres a crap load in there... or maybe... both??

nah theres more then that removed.

If you treat it like you would an EG civic hatch then you'll get the same results.

just remember that you can remove the roof for racing and thats a descent 5 - 10 kgs.

I removed 30 - 35 kg's from my boot alone for races.

I'm also tossing between del sol and a EG but when it comes to decision you also have to consider the budget, a delsol is around 13k and eg is only 5k thats a huge difference...

not really... i got mine bone stock with 140K and year rego for $10k off eBay :p

offered the fellow $10k cash while it was still on $8k.. ended with me for $15,200.. i had to outbid the highest bidder at $15,100 to make sure theres no probs... still only paid $10k.

theres been a few in good nic for under $10k... it's just a matter of being smart and organising to check it out with the seller prior to bidding.... too many people on trading post/car sales dreaming with their $15k+ prices for stockish pre-95 models...

There was a chick selling a red 96 model on ebay 2 weeks after mine for $9k buy it now.. i chekced it out and it was perfect... would have got it but i hate how red paint fades.

buying an EG with B18CR for around the $10k mark is different ball game though... i remember there was one on here for sale at that price...

How hard is it to source parts for delsol compared to EG?

JasonGilholme
06-09-2007, 02:02 PM
its not really that hard.

del sol is an EG chassis anyway so all the control arms, suspension and engine is the same.

only hard thing to find would be the interior or panels etc.

dsp26
06-09-2007, 02:34 PM
yeah ext/int panels are the only things different.

chassis & engine mechanicals are same as eg/dc(non r)

man Jase, if you were in Syd i'd ask you for a wire-tuck too....

If anyones interested theres a couple of post-95 model Del Sols currently on trading post for under $13k

JasonGilholme
06-09-2007, 02:42 PM
man wire tucks are piss easy.

Pullin an engine out is a bit harder lol (pullin mine out soon) - gives me a good chance to tuck some more shit *****! :gangsta:
