IEVAQ8 - I have similar Turbo setup on my B series but single Tial Wastegate....what are the pro's and con's to the dual wastegate setup?

Better boost control and I belive those Full Race manifolds have divided collectors, so one WG per side.

Ohh yeh i can see how that would be better!!...so it gates pressure on two exhaust ports per side....Awesome!!
Nice setup btw...looks sweet. Good to see more Aussie B series Turbos around...

They look like Tial 38mm gates which are around $450. Thats what it cost me, so the manifold couldnt have costed $4100 or around abouts?

They are definatly not 38mm. The Tial 38mm WG are a 2 bolt setup. These ones in the photo are huge. More like the Tial V44 which have V-band connections.

DLO01
18-09-2007, 06:49 AM
Direct from Full Race maybe?
http://www.full-race.com/catalog/
IEVAQ8
18-09-2007, 08:52 AM
yep, the manifolds come direct from full race...............
about the wastegates...
the wastages are 44mm wastages loaded up with double springs, (not single springs) You run 2 wastages to have absolute control on a spilt pulse turbo setup (one gate per side of the split pulse. (Because the final collector is fully divided into 2 halves you need to run a gate on each side of the collector to equalize boost pressure on both sides.)

ive seen 340kwatw out of a s2000 fully worked....
dont see how u can get 500atw
goodluck tho
JasonGilholme
19-09-2007, 09:51 AM
yeah,
i saw about 390 atw on a turbo b16 and it was a turbo setup with very high compression, big cams and a fully done bottom end.
if race fuel and nos were used it could probably see 500 kws but i can't imagine it being a reliable, street driveable setup.

pump fuel, my tuner has it on his car 400+ on b16a, my car will follwo his progress and be built just as his is finished, i hate spitting numbers and figures without the proof, but time will tell

like i said time will tell, and i dont like spitting numbers untill i have proof...........but i will definatly show progress and proof........just sourcing my internals at the moment....

wtf are people on these forums on about?! james aka BLKCRX who i believe will be doing the build for this car? has hit over 400fwkw and is adr engineered. It was shown at one of the autosalon dyno comp things to revs aout to like 10.5k. 500kw is easily possible on a fully built motor. people in the states make upwards of 700-800hp on b series engines.
yes it will be streetable if you say so cos it still would have a bit of lag down low, but then all hell breaks loose after that so i wouldnt say it will bet everything on street tyres.
anyway well see how this build goes and good luck go for it!

^^ Don't forget that US dynos show higher numbers than Australian dynos, and most cars run race fuel unless they say so otherwise.

wow big numbers. 500kw Are you building this setup for drag racing or just dyno queen?

EGB18CT is correct.
james aka blkcrx will be doing my build just once he finishes his build, and yes he made over 400kw at the wheels on his b16a on pump fuel and ran 11.6 at 129mph.
so when he finishes his project which will make 500+ and then start on my b18cr as you know and i hope to make the same if not more power................with the same / similar set up to his

im not sure the power figure it made with race fuel, and no it wasnt 2kw at the wheels exra, it was 400+ with race fuel and 11.6 @ 129mph
the dyno run on pump fuel was 398kw...................and im not sure if he even ran it on pump fuel...........
just like barefootbonzai said, once the numbers a made and done, i will post the progress............like i said james does no what he is on about...............and will produce the figures, im not saying i will, but james and his magic will....

Just to clear up the usa vs aus dyno figure debate, usa dynos (dynojet most common) is an unloaded dyno and reads around 15-17% higher than our dyno dynamics dynos. And if someone wants to fugde figures it's easy enough. I hate dyno figure wars. Take your s&*t to the track and run the mph.
