Things to look out for when buying a used Honda

Not sure if this sort of thread has been posted before or not, I searched and found nothing so I decided i'd post up a thread to get some info on things to look for when buying a used honda.

At the moment i'm on the hunt for a decent EG or EK Civic and i'm just after some info on common problems and things I should be checking for that could end up costing me alot to fix.

Apart from the obvious checks that should be made when checking over a vehicle - I'm after model specific, common problems.

we have an ek4 and really there arent any problems we've faced. Just do the usual checks of the body condition etc...

our ek4 has almost 270,000 kms on it and is still totally stock. We've had one clutch change, and that's pretty much it, apart from normal servicing. No problems with the radiator - still stock radiator no oil leaks, shocks are starting to go but what do you expect with that many kms...
