it depends state to state
in vic its based on power to weight...im not sure but i reckon u could mod ur car up to the limit it only seems fair.but i don't know the VIC modding laws

from my understanding in NSW the car is not allowed to have any mods that gain performance

there are ways around, no exposed pod filter n an intake system that incorporates the standard box, if u get done make out thats the standard system....n it was like that when i bought the car

and do an exhaust but make it quieter and maybe standardish looking tips

try and find out what the laws are in ur state by contacting the RTA...fid out the penalties and work out if its worth it

ow when i rang up to find out the penalties for driving a prohibited vehicle they woulnd't tell me unless i gave my name, they started questioning me like "have u drove a prohibated vehicle?, whats ur name?

so i rang up again n pretended i wanted the info for a school project and they were happy to help
so maybe pretend that it might help u
its also on the RTA site
http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/gettingalicence/car/p1p2_conditions.html?llid=4

around there but i couldn't seem to find it
best bet is to ring up

i think there more concerned about people driving V8s rather than a 4 with an exhaust but that doesn't mean they won't getu for it

Search General Modification Guidelines for NSW on OzHonda. That's a good start.

Code-87 is correct. You may not use any engine performance devices.
As you have a Jazz; Best to use your money enhacing the suspension, as you mentioned earlier.

Your car is relatively new, and it would be wise to not mess with the new honda merchandise.

Enhance your car's stopping power aswell, so when you're off your P's you can increase your engine performance and you won't need to worry about having to upgrade all the other bits of pieces if you do them now.

bayani does the modification restriction effect every state?
with different laws being in effect in different states reguarding performance vehicles
ie VIC using power to weight

however some people don't modify in accordance to the law ie lowering etc
so whether u choose to do small mods n hope not to get caught

but bayani is right with doing suspension, brakes n all ur exterior n interior work before engine mods
theres nothing stupider than having all this power but noting to stop urself with

It sounds strange by State Laws overpower Federal Laws.

ADRs are a Federal Initiative.

If the states want to impose higher standards, then they are free to do so.

But yes, Modification Restrictions DO differ from state to state so ensure you are up-to-date.
