I am looking at which coilovers to get for my ED civic at the moment, and having a bit of trouble deciding which ones to get. Its between Zeal Super Function, Tein Type RA, or J's Racing Crux.
If anyone has had experience or heard anything about these can you help me out? Or if anyone has any others they suggest let me know. As long as it is lightweight and track orientated.
Thanks

have u considered hks hipermax-II? my cousin has played around with a few coil-overs for his DC2R and swears the hipermaxs are by far the best! They are expensive but quality is never cheap. Its a very stiff and firm ride!

yeah, I used to have the Hypermax II on my EK. They were good, but a bit soft. Excellent for street use, and occasional track use. But I need something mainly for track.
I got Zeal Super Function on my EG hatch and they are great

The hypermax II, you can only lower the height by actually reducing the overall travel of the shock. I dont think this is ideal for street driving, cause u have maybe 3cm of travel if your car is lowered by a reasonable amount.
The zeal will have a seperate collar to lower the height, without affecting the overall travel which is preferrable. You can slam your car and still have decent amount of travel, before you be running on your bump bump bump s...s...s..t...t...t..tops.
I think also the Tein RA has only the single collar, same as the HKS.
Same with the crux, has just a threaded body, and if you lower your car you are also lowering the total travel of the shock.
HKS has the "Performer" and the "Gymkhana" model which has a seperate collar for lowering, as well as the Zeals, i think all Zeals have the two collars.
You could consider the tein Flex, it has two collars and you can choose your rates when you buy them brand new (get hardcore springs for the track), and also i have seen them very cheap for brand new sets(round 2k). Also a twin tube design, so most places that can rebuild a koni "should" be able to rebuild the tein.

I'd go Tein or if you can afford it - customer bilstein eibach set up - however it's not as cheap as the jap ones.
The main reason is, A few suspension places have reported that Tein are trying to set up better Support in Australia so that you can
a. Get things re-valved here ie. rebuilt etc
b. If you want to go stiffer springs, they can uprate the valving here (not just yet, but soon)
I have Zeal S6's, which are great and I love'm, but these are some of the problems that I've run into when I wanted to change the sussy a little more without wanting to send them back to japan. Even though the dampers are adjustable and should be able to accomodate an eibach spring (my preferred) - getting info from Endless to whether the shocks can work with such a rate has been rather slow (or I'm not going through the right channels).
and I don't think you can go wrong with any of the mentioned coil overs :D
