Hi All,

Finally getting around to doing suspension for my DC2.

I just wanted to confirm couple things:

1. To fit the OEM DC2R ITR Shocks/Springs to my DC2, I'll need DC2R or EG6 LCA's? Yeah? I'm certain it is.
2. The Whiteline 24mm Heavy Duty Swaybar. What reinforcement do I need? Do Whiteline have reinforcement, or is the ASR brace good enough?

Any issues (knocking etc) with the above setup?

Yes

Whiteline should come with it's own reinforcement. ASR brace was designed to be used with OEM ITR/CTR rear sway setup.

Any issues (knocking etc) with the above setup?
Not when installed correctly.

Becareful about the ITR LCA and the Whiteline swaybars... some people have no issues. But i've had some with my setup.

I ordered a 22mm swaybar from whiteline for my 98' DC2. After a few days of driving i was hearing noises from the back of my car... on closer inspection i found that my swaybar was hitting the ITR LCA.

My understanding is that its because the DC2 LCA is alot narrower than the ITR LCA. The bar was actaully rubbing against the LCA and causes all the noise.

As i said before some people have no issues with this setup, but this is my experience.

Overall, ITR sussy and a thicker swaybar on your non-type R teg is a great upgrade. You'll feel the difference instantly. Good Luck.

A contributing factor , is the ride height of your car. The lower it is , the higher chance of the rear swaybar rubbing/knocking against the LCA's.

Thanks guys.

Ben, my ride height will be stock ITR ride height.

Any issues with running the below setup on dc2 vti-r?

ITR suspension
ITR Rear LCA
Whireline 22mm rear Swaybar
ASR Subframe brace

If I may ask a question regarding fitting. My ITR shocks/springs are set to arrive later next week. Then ITR Rear LCA should be coming soon which I will need to install the suspension.

Should I wait until I get ASR and Rear swaybar and do it in one hit? Or can I do suspension/lca then Swaybar/ASR without overlapping anything?

Thanks

You can do the suspension and lca's with out the sway bar and reinforcement if you like. It can be good this way coz you will see what each individual mod does to the cars' handling.

I just wanted to confirm when I fit the swaybar and ASR brace, I won't need to remove the suspension and LCA. But yeh I think I'll do that.

yes you can do the sway bar and ASR brace without removing the lca's, however you will prob need to remove the long bolt where the lca meets the subframe while you put the brace in, then reinsert it.
To do it I partially jacked up the car to remove some weight, but then I have a pit which makes that easy lol.
