Purchasing 2 year extended warranty before factory warranty runs out..any good deals

I'm considering purchasing the extended 2 years warranty with honda for my Jazz
Its been trouble free since now but you never know.

I wanted to know if anyone bargain or got any good deals and what to pay..
I chucked my letter out so I can't remember, think It was about $500.....

I am also after some expert advice regarding getting an extended warranty for my father's '05 V6 Accord.

He recently put it in for the 30,000km service at Southside Honda and the service guy there urged him to purchase an extended warranty for $900 which gets him a further two years or 40,000km warranty after the standard three year Honda warranty expires this month.

He asked me what I thought of this and I told him $900 seemed rather expensive for just two years or 40,000km...but if a gearbox or something goes then that's easily $4000 down the drain.

However the odds of anything happening in the next two years are probably slim considering this car is hardly used and is a Jan 2005 model (not that old)...unless someone here that may work at Honda would recommend otherwise coz no doubt they would have seen all the horror stories that come in their door! It's a gamble really...

What should we do?

go get extended warranty, i would.
more of the fact for a 500ish dollars, you have piece of mind for the next 2 years.

go to another dealer, i'm pretty sure, they can all give you that option.
or call up honda australia, and ask them how much should you be getting charged for extended warranty.

for me, i'm not bcoz after 6 months i got my car, the paint protection on my front bumper start cracking and peeling off... then i told them when i did my service. they told me to get it fix from smash repair. they are not going to cover me. get very upset with them.

Is your front bumper custom mod bodykit? If yes, they won't cover it.

If I purchase a Honda extended warranty from a different dealer, will the first dealer that quoted me $900 still honor the extended warranty? It should all be under the Honda nationwide umbrella thingo, right?

Its a gamble but in the end I didn't take it up......should of but didn't, was offered when buying the car but didn't think I would keep it that long...oh well its still going strong touch wood.....

Is your front bumper custom mod bodykit? If yes, they won't cover it.

everything is stock in my car ... too bad.... actually extremely upset:(

Interesting. I just rang around and another dealer is offering the exact same warranty extension for $795 (rather than $900 from the other place). Pays to shop around...

When i bought my car, i demand some free stuff on my car and extented warranty is one them.. so its not goona hurt if you ask them for free..
