Get Off Handbrake....Thats A Bad Handbrake!!

I have purchased a new aftermarket handbrake handle for my 96 civic, and i cant get the original item off.
I have tried pulling on it and searching for screws or clips, but i cant find any.
I have also removed the surrounding console but i cant find anything to take it off.
Please help.........

I've never tried to remove the handle, but maybe heating it up with a hair dryer might help? Just an idea

juz work it left to right, it should move after a bit of working. All else fails a shot of WD40 :D that shit is good for everything

Get an oxy and burn it off.

trust me they come off, I took mine off when I made a new leather boot for it
