right now, thinking of a 5th gen vtir prelude
though i wouldn't mind a dc5 teg, but that's a few grand beyond the budget

DC2 Type Rs are faster and handle better than DC5s. They also out perform Preludes.

dc5 type r is definitely faster then a vti-r lude coz they're lighter in weight.
If you're still interested with a lude, try to find 99+ and manual :)

Type R FTW!
Even my VTiR DC2 is quicker than a Prelude VTiR from the experiences I've had. But that could have been based on driver, kinda hard to tell.

yea.. been tossing between the dc2 vtir and prelude vtir
common consensus here seems to be that the dc2 is more towards the *fun* side of things.. whereas the lude is more luxury that can still go alright

Just off the top of my head I can't think of anyone who use Preludes as circuit cars. Although I'm sure there are some people. However, lots of people race DC2s.

Stereotyped.
the ludes are pretty nasty on straights especially with more litres.

Stock for stock they're only about as fast as my DC2.
I think it's a stereotypical assumption that the bigger engined car will be faster in a line.

heh... i'm not really interested in what goes faster, i've read the threads on here... all pretty similar
will just test drive both.. and see which one i enjoy more

lol
I had a lude, with futjutsubo power getter exhaust /h/i/,
ran it up against a dc2-R with N1 spoon exhaust /h/i/
On rolling start the lude will win.
but on a normal launch start, the DC2-R was heaps faster.
I didnt assume that bigger engine the car'll be faster.
but it does help to have more petrol pouring into your engine no?
DC2 R or not, you gotta give credits to lude. Theyre pretty nasty.
thats all im saying mate (;

Good idea. Personally, I've driven both and feel like the Prelude is a bit of a boat compared to the DC2. It's not as fun to drive.
But whatever floats your boat.

No. Besides, having a larger displacement doesn't mean it's got more power. As for more petrol, that depends on the air fuel mix and the engines ability to pump air. It also doesn't matter how much bigger the engine is if the car body is way heavier.

Fair enough,
I just dont like people underestimating Ludes.

They're not that fast is all. I mean, when you have as little power as something like a DC2, Civic or Prelude has, you want it to handle like a machine otherwise it's a bit of a poser car. That's what I think of Preludes.

5th gen lude is heavier than dc2 vti-r for sure..
but it's hard for dc2 vti-r to beat a lude with atts on the road - stock to stock
you can only beat lude on track.. since the dc2r equipped with lsd and lude's atts tends to shut down itself if you abuse it on the track :p

DC2 VTiR doesn't come with an LSD. I've been up against some VTiR Preludes, and my DC2 is faster. But then the other drivers could have just been crap. You're in Melbourne, let's test it out. :P
