i think Sr20 if stock vs stock .. no proof at the moment just my guess since ive always thought the SSS was almost on par with the b16a .. and im sure a vtir would beat a eg vti on 1/4mile

On paper a SSS will win regardless 2.0l vs gutless 1.6 with "VTECK"

The SR20 produces only 8kw (96kw vs 104kw) more but it has the grunt of the 2l. (178 NM vs 145NM)

Stock for stock - B16A>SR20.

I've raced a couple on a track, beaten them both when I only had i/h/e. They had the same or similar mods. 1-2 car lengths both times.

As for a Vti - they are SOHC I beleive. I would probably say the SR20 might have a slight edge, but the EG is pretty light though. As others have said, depends on driver.

SSS because the SSS will rely less on the driver. A little mistake will be covered by the torque. In the D16Y8, the driver will need to be perfect to extract all the performance to beat the SSS.
