Gear selector pouch thingy, keeps falling

I just put a new gearknob on and it looks nice and all, but the thing is, the pouch thing that covers the gearstick always keeps falling, how do I make it stay at the top right under the gear knob ? The gearknob that came was the car wasn't the original one either, I tryed zipties but it didnt work, any other way ??

get a small rubber band , same colour as your shift boot. Put in around the top of the boot ( where the plastic ring is at the top) and pull it aroudn a few times to "hold" the boot at the top.

Will give it a try tommorow, if doesnt work, ill do what markoJEK1 said and get the clip to hold it up.
