Hey guys,
Just need some advice in regards to getting my bumper bar strips colour coded.
I have one of the old EK hatches that have the black bumper strips on the front and rear bar. I'm planning to get them sprayed all the same colour to give the civic a nice clean look.
Do you recommend this to be done professionally? Or has anyone done this themselves? What was the outcome?
I got a quote from a smash repair shop to get all the bumper strips painted (front, rear, sides, door handles, side skirts) and it was around the $900+?
Let me know your thoughts.
Thanks..

go professional, that way you got peace of mind knowing its quality work,
and it wont look dodgy, and if anything goes wrong, its there fault.
also. there spraying will probably last longer, along with the matching with clear coat etc etc.
its a bit of work cause u gotta unclip the bumper strips from inside the doors.
so its taking it apart etc.
get more quotes, find someone you feel comfortable with and go for it.
good luck

DIY removal
cost me 250 back then to haf it smmoothed down and painted silver
i also did the rear no. plate and skirts also while i was at it
removing the strip on ur own wud require a bit of time to take apart some interior parts eg. door.
u wud save alot of money removing it urself (carefullly not to break clips) and once painted jus pop em all back in.
looks great

Thank you all for your response..
DIY sounds like a good idea and it'll definitely save me $$ but I don't know how good it'll turn out?
Does anyone have any photos of their civic bumper guards that have been painted at home?

you dont sound so confident with what its going to come out... wont cost you that much to get a good quality finish done professionally if you strip it off the car yourself as stated above..
what location are you in? someone may be able to point you towards somewhere decent near you..
