I keep reading over threads with people talking about d16s H22as and im guessing that these are engine models?

Could some tell me what the 2005 Civic 4dr sedan has?

Thanks :)

The 2005 Civic 4dr sedan you are referring to is the ES Civic.
This Civic carries a 1.7L non vtec engine known as the D17Z1 engine (88kw).
The Civic that I own (2005 5dr hatch) is the vtec variant with the D17A2 engine (96kw).

Hope that helps.

Yes if you buy the ES in the US, you will get the D17A2 engine.. their spec is different to AUS spec. Judging by your name, i'd assume that you are driving the Aus spec, Australian versions will always be the D17Z1 unless you do an engine swap. :)

Do you know how much better i would improve the power by purchasing a CAI or short ram and an exhaust system.. I dont really care about high end torque as theres never anywhere to use it..I really want to improve its off the mark speed.. Probally the only thing I've disliked about the civic since i bought it.

our civic dont respond well to bolt ons but it does make it sound better.

i have a AEM CAI, Buddy club Custom exhaust & Extractors and my car still feels the same.

its the fact that our cars were made for economical purposes not performance

only way to get good amount of power is to K swap it or turbo

hmm guess ill just do the bolt ons to make it sound nice :p swapping motors or a turnbo costs way to much

Thanks for your responce Riced_Civic :)

arent the civic VTI VTEC?

Only VTi that honda released for the Civic 7th gen's was for the EU hatchback which was a special edition with a bodykit. All ES sedans are GLi in aus.
