Hey guys,
First of all i'm not sure if i'm posting in the right forum but if i'm not could you redirect my post to the right forum and sorry :(
I've finally decided to not go for that EM1 stretching at $22k or the new CTR. I've realised what i need and want is comfort and style: which to me says euro. My budget is fetching around the $25 - $27.5k mark. I'm looking to buy an 04-05 Euro Luxury - Luxury because i want leather seats and the electric sunroof.
Been reading threads about peoples comments on their Euro's (Pro's & Con's) but i'm still content on purchasing a Euro Luxury. One comment that a lot of people have made is the fact that the Euro is a bumpy ride at low revs (i travel from SevenHills all the way to Pymble for work 5 days a week on the M2 so i'm in Bumper-Bumper traffic CONSTANTLY) however i'm pretty sure that it cannot be as bumpy as my current 5-speed manual EK1 ride. Can anyone vouch for my comment on either the manual or auto Euro's?
Just wanting to hear people's thoughts on what is a good buy at my budget, and whether there is a more luxurious car that i can purchase that is not older than 04.
Cheers all :)
my friends sister has a manuel euro (not sure what model all i know its the newer euro), im not sure but i dont feel it as bumpy at low revs, its a pretty smooth drive for me, and its the easiest to drive.
from what ive seen its pretty quick for what it is.
im not much on prices, but from a quick browse of car sales for NSW your looking about $24k to $34k the more you pay the better the condition, you can probally find a decent one for around $27k.
if you want it automatic or manual thats up to you if you love driving manual or not, but ive only driven a manual euro and its ok, its different driving such a luxurious car in manual

caprices/statesmans and ltd's/ fairlanes will be cheaper, more powerful and have more features...
...but will also have poorer build quality, refinement, fuel consumption and devaluation.
ive ridden in an '05 euro standard and found the ride to be very smooth and the roads round here arent exactly perfect. very nice car overall as im sure u already know :)

Moving to the Accord Euro Section.
If you are used to your EK1, the Euro will be more comfortable when on bumpy roads.

The sound deadening dampens the sound of harsh roads, and the suspension isnt as harsh as some say. Its harder than a Camry/Commodore off course but its definitely smoother than my EG Civic.
Give it a test drive before purchasing ftw

I used to have a EJ8, sold it after couple of months cause its too noisy and bumpy....
Euro rocks, get the manual if you can drive one.
I choose a std, cause dont really need the luxuries. Like you I have 25k working budget but decided to stretch it to a new one, as I think in the long run, its more value for money.

Try and get a manual if you can. They are the most awesome car for the money, and I am so happy with mine. I came out of a Mazda 323 SP20 too, so it wasn't an easy shift to make.
My best friend has a manual 05 Luxury Edition and he's absolutely rapt with his too - and he drives constantly from Sydney - Canberra - Adeleaide.

If your finances can stretch to an 06 model you shouldn't have any problems.

i sold a 2000 V6 camry conquest and got the euro.. i still think the drive in the V6 conquest is so much smoother and nicer. miss it the softness (i sound like an old biscuit) :) .. but too bad shape is sooo boring..

Yeah euro does feel a little bumpy, accord luxury was a real smooth ride tho. I recently bought '04 euro lux and very very happy with the purchase! but definitely have a good drive before making up ur mind.
