but in answer 2 your actual question,
no its not water proof. ive heard it is quite hard 2 get hydrolock,
its usually a case of actually being submerged in water. for instance, a pot hole,
injen is a good reputable brand, i wouldnt be afraid 2 install it.
Feel the power aswell :)
good luck.

NOT waterproof at all. I have seen with my own eyes a similar design to injen that has sucked water in in 2 separate occasions , on teh SAME motor.
Injen makes a bypass valve i believe to counteract this possibility.

injen make a water repelant sock that covers the filter
they are called hydroshield pre-filters
are you serious, im worried cuz i might wet it when i wash my car or wen it rain.. my engine is still brand new.. only done like 13000K..

it's pretty hard to hydrolock your car.

If you see a big puddle on the left side of the road, go to the right side. If you see a big puddle in front covering all lanes, pull to the side with your hazards on and stop. That's all you need to know about avoiding hydrolocking, short of avoiding driving in the rain. :)
hahhaa thanks mate, great advice! will do..

Plus you can't use the byPass Valve on the injen according to this site (4th last box)

not its not.
you can drive into a 300mm flooded road.
avoid flooded roads thats about it
if its flooded avoid it or stop. dont give a shit about drivers behind beeping you.

you wont hydrolock your car washing it.. LOL
you can only hydrolock it if you drive into a steep puddle or pothole where the water splash up towards your injen cai.
and even then its quite hard.
hydrolock might only happen if your filter gets submerged into water.
ive heard a case of it happening.. but its quite rare

well i drove thru rain on several occasions!
wen i hit a huge puddle i just go like rolling speed no acceleration at all if its unavoidable of course! and nothing has happened so far :D:D
so i guess this will sum it up to!
Puddle = rolling speed (if unavoidable)
Rain = no Problemo

No probs here! :D
I've got Injen CAI, with the Intake sitting right at the bottom (where fog lights should be), and haven't had any problems driving through heavy rain plenty of times.
...Plus it is definitely worth the extra (11kW) gain from this simple mod :)
