Using too much fuel

Not a Honda but need help plz.
It's a mates car,a magna.It's using too much fuel,blowing blue smoke.He's had it tuned.The mechanic said he should get the injectors cleaned.
What do you guys think could be the problem?

Looks and sounds like a TR - TS 4 cyl.

Blue smoke is from burning oil so its probably worn valve guide seals that is causing the problem. You could try using a thicker oil and see how that goes. Otherwise it may simply be time for the engine to have a rebuild.

Flush and replace the coolant while you are at it.

Beeza did this randomly start happening? is the engine going threw alot of oil?

It's been like this for a while,he said it's using a bit of oil aswell.

Sounds too far gone for thicker oil. Need to spend some $$ to replace the valve stem seals and possibly recon.

I'm not sure what oil rating he's using but I guess it would just be the normal rating.I think that's 10w-30.

I guess the repair bill could cost anywhere between $400-$800.
Does that sound about right?

Could be alot more dude...could be as high as $2500 possibly. depending if needs rebuild

Yeh a rebuild can be very expensive.

It might be cheaper just buying a second hand engine with lowish KM's from the wreckers and change the timing belt, and hope it runs well.

If its blowing smoke like that, might not last that long bro...tell him to sell as is for like nuthing or else it will be undrivable and he will get $0.

I suggest engine change also...those engine could be pretty cheap...

Hahahha i had this 86 suzuki swift that was my run around while my civic was getting work done and that did the same hahahhaha i just ran it till one day i parked at my mates and the bearing locked shut and the crack wouldnt even move hahaha..just got it towed to a wrecker and he offered me $75 so i took it.. lol such a waste of a neat little beast...had exhaust and steering wheel and short shift in it...

since the car is worth 1k sell it for 500 at least then with the 2.5k that your GOING TO use for a rebuilt stuff that and try to get a EG or something rather for 3k from the auctions or from the cars for sale section in OZhonda. i picked up a 2.8k integra IMMAC condition for less that 3k :) owner serviced it every 2500kms as he was a mechanic and also got a rebuild and rebuilt the gearbox and new clutch. had a few things like momo steering wheel and dadadadada but man, just tell him to go for a new car. magnas are shitty my mum use to have one. magnas are duds. every mitsubishi is a dud. if you want a reliable car tell him to go for a toyota. most reliable. if he wants some speed then tell him to go Honda for some JDM y0! :D have fun!! ITS NOT WORTH FIXING !! DEFINATELY NOT! DONT FIX CARS THAT ARE WORTH LESS THAN 2K UNLESS ITS A PROJECT CAR ! =D
