I installed these Boston S55's but didnt do any sound proofing at all, they are just screwed in at the moment. (and yes, they sound crap at the moment :p)

Speaker specs = 5-1/4", 35wRMS (will run off an Amp later)

Here is the speaker at the moment (Click the picture for a large version):

1) The exterior door panel~ Should I just put a piece of Dynamat or BrownBread on the inside of the exterior door panel? Or would a liquid one such as edead or lightning audio noisekiller be better?

2) The holes in the inner door frame around and below the speaker~ whats the best material to close up the holes and around the speaker itself? Some left over dynamat/brownbread perhaps?

3) Speaker mounting~ Is it ok to screw the speakers straight to the inner door frame? Or would something like rubber grommits buffer the speaker (like I did in the picture)? I dont want to use MDF since there isnt much space, and the inner door frame is not completely flat. Perhaps I can use some leftover dynamat/brownbread between the speaker and inner frame?

4) Speaker wires~ Is it a biatch routing new speaker wires through the door cable tube? Or do you think the stock speaker wires can handle <35wRMS ok?

for me I just use 10mm MDF spacer then put Focal Plainchant right behind the speaker ........... I'm very sure 10mm MDF its still plenty of room

Does the MDF sit flat on the door panel?

Or did you need to use sealant to fill the holes?
What sealant should u use?

id recommend that you use dynamat for ur door then either place a diffuser or focal plant chant material behind the speaker and that will provide some good mid bass

the MDF will sit on the door then ur speaker will sit on the spacer. with 10mm u should have good clearance.

for ur wire qns ud want to change the wiring if ur powering it up from an amp, the stock wiring cna maybe handle 35WRMS but to be on the safe side ud want to change them to accomodate for the extra power

ok thx for the info.

I'll apply Brown Bread to the inside of the exterior panel, get diffusers to sit behind the speakers, some MDF mounts, and silicon sealant and brownbread for the surrounding holes, and reroute some decent speaker wires through the loom. The Euro already has some sound proofing on the inner panel so I dont need any sound deadening door liner sheets.

gbang, Focal Plain Chant are sound deadening/damping pads that you place behind speakers. Similar to brownbread/dynamat.
