Yeh the Jaycar speakers are good at a cheap price, way better than Sony and other overpriced brands. If you are not getting an Amp, just get some 2-way or 3-way 5.25inch or 6inch speakers.

Remember that if you are running the speakers straight of the Head Unit, you need to get speakers that have low RMS wattage (about 30wRMS for example) and high sensitivity. Otherwise if you get 150wRMS ones, they will sound very trebley and lack Bass.

www.jaycar.com.au

or look in the yellow pages for shops that specialize in car audio and get some nice Boston's / JL Audio / Focal / Rockford speakers designed for direct OEM replacement

i would try stathfield car radio. . . they always have sales on

and in terms of ur front speakers not working it could really be anything. if your planning on getting a new deck installed you might as well do that and if they are still not working then check the wiring at the bak of the speaker and if that still doesnt work then the easiest way would be to rewire it urself. i u need help in getting aroung doing it then pm me and ill give u some info for easy wiring installations. . . .

if it were 10 yrs ago SCR would have been the go (in sydney) now - there are heaps of better alternatives. IF I could show pics of what a SCR fellow did to an old laser it would definitely make you think twice..
