Hey guys
I was just wondering, does a alternator have its own fuse.
Because my alternator wasnt generating any power, so i went out and got another one. The same thing happens and the new one doesnt work.

I test the alternator by turning the car own, then take the positive lead off the battery, then the car just turns off. Meaning the alternator doesnt work.
If the car remain on , meaning that the alternator works, but it doesnt

Can anyone help

Nope the battery is not dead, if its dead the car wont start.
The alternator is not charging.

Does the alterantor has its own fuse?

the alternator has a regulator...the alternator might be spinning but it wont charge the battery unless that regulator is working fine...

try locating a second hand or reconditioned alternator from parts place or wreckers...

if ur in sydney try honbits at smithfield...

most likely they will ask for your alternator core, and u swap it for the reconditioned alternator + $50 or so...

if u cannot undo ur alternator urself, an auto electrician or any mechanic will be able to remove that for you...its easily done
unbolt, remove, replace with recon alternator, bolt it on, belt it up and connect the appropriate wires...

Have you test the voltage?

Engine off = 12.5v
Engine on = 14.4v
