My CRX Si has the 7200 redline / 8000rpm max. tacho.
With the SiR B16 conversion, I got a 8000 redline / 9000rpm max. tacho which came with the front cut.

Has anybody tried to do the swap, as the tachos are a different size, and certainly different circuitry. The 9000 vtec unit from the SiR is a complete removable module, but the 8000 from the Si has attached circuit and wiring.

Help us out a bit here, what year model crx are we talking about here? ie your car and the front cut.

Are the face plates interchangeable? or is it a completly different setup with the ration of the tacho etc? and different sixe face plate etc.

basically, if it looks like its not gonna be an straight swap it probably isnt and the best idea is to keep the OEM tacho and live with it or throw in an aftermarket tacho with the capabilities to monitor your rpm.

yeah if you got a EF CRX half-cut, you can just swap over the WHOLE guage cluster.. plug and play as said above..

DO NOT simply swap the face of the guage over as the readings for both RPM and KM/Hr will be way out..

ummmmm where are you guys getting your information from ?

its not a simple plug and play ACTUALLY

for starters the plugs in the SiR cluster are different so you will have to swap all the wiring from Si to SiR plugs for the existing wires, then there are other features on the SiR cluster which you will have to either leave or run new wires to connect.

THEN your current Si speedo is cable driven, where as the SiR is electronically driven, thus you will have to change the cable driven [acronym:3aec25094b="Vehicle Speed Sensor"]VSS[/acronym:3aec25094b] you currently have to the electric [acronym:3aec25094b="Vehicle Speed Sensor"]VSS[/acronym:3aec25094b] from the SiR.

this link should help you, it shows how to change cluster to an EK Si cluster.

I have looked into this as I too wanted to swap my clusters over when I did my swap but CBF doing the work.
