View Full Version : Help me put together a custom turbo kit!
Hi guys. Before I start I'd just like to mention that I've already done an extensive search (to my best effort) regarding this and couldn't find anything very useful.
I'm looking to either go the AVO path or the custom path for my B18C (running on stock internals).
I'm more inclined to go the custom path, as I can imagine it is cheaper and more effective.
But what parts would I need? I'm hoping you guys can help me put together a basic (comprehensive if possible) 'turbo checklist'.
Please don't flame me! Thanks.

ill put down a basic list off what i am doing at the moment;
-Spoolin Performance log manifold
-Precision/Tuner Toys injectors
-Garrett T3/To4 .57 trim .48 or .63
-Wastegate
-Charge piping
-OBD1 ECU
-Conversion harness
-Intercooler
-Down pipe
-Oil Lines + fittings (Stealth mode Performance)
-BOV
im doing this build over time haha might tiake a while as im a uni student with part time job lol
im looking fro around 150kwatw hopefully. but yeh depends on your power goals and budget. good luck.
your better of setting a budget for your parts or power goal to reach. and always allow abit extra for unaccounted for things that come up.

It just comes down to 2 things, how much power do you want and how much money you have to spend?

A good fuel system is paramount uprated fuel pump with a fuel pressure regulator.

Just leave the FPR stock n spend the money on injectors.

There is no way I'd be using standard injectors and fuel pressure reg. Upgrade the injectors according to your desired power level and run a boost referenced (ie rising rate) pressure reg. Fuel pump may or may not be needed depending on power level.
The last thing you want to do is skimp on the fuel system.
