And I intend to. Cutting springs is the most ridiculous thing you can do. It unbalances spring, the ride and the car. I can handle the fact that you dont care about yourself and would write off your car, but I feel sorry for your passengers and other road users that could be near you when you do wipe out. The fact that you have bothered to post a thread about this and that you are taking the issue so light hearted is just further evidence of how ridiculous you are being.

cutting springs is something done on a VL, not good as your car will feel like a boat over bumps!:thumbdwn:

yeah cutting springs is the worst way to lower your car, just save the money and do it properly like ervyone else has said. i once serviced a car and chucked it on the hoist all the springs were loose so when i brought the car down i had to align each one back and lower it slowly. :thumbdwn::thumbdwn:

had a mate back at tafe with some shitty ford with neons and shit on it, he had cut springs, jack it up it becomes loose. He wrote his car off and the RACV guy found out but still gave him the Market value :s the **** went wrong there?

the upper and lower most coils of a spring are the "captive" area , they practically hold the spring within its range. Once you cut any amount off you totally change its characteristics and generally **** up your ride.

Dont do it !

only reason why people do is cos they are too tight to fork out cash to buy lowered springs and not warned of the risks involved. my old boss offered cutting springs on customers demand but didn't provide invoice for legal reasons.

With that sort of attitude you probably shouldnt be driving a car at all! Let me guess - you dont have insurance either because no one will ever crash into you :o.
