I've had my Integra for a few months now, and it's been great. But I was talking to a friend of mine that has a Mazda 323 2.0l and he was saying he gets 450+ km per 50l tank. I on the other hand struggle to get 390km to a 50l tank.
He also asked what colour the inside of my exhaust was; a dark grey or jet black. It's black - and he says that means it's running richer than it should.
Is this the problem or could it be something else? And if that is the problem then how do I go about fixing it?

the colour of the exhaust is always black due to carbon build up, it's normal. Is it due for a service? Take it to a good mechanic.

how many litres are you able to get into your tank when you fill up, i know for mine the most ive ever been able to get is 40L at the most,
usually running my car down to just above the empty line it takes roughly 34-36L and i get atleast 450+k's out of a tank which works out to about 6-7L per 100k's
next time you fill up do this calculation,
litres it takes to fill up your car / km's you travelled at the time you filled up,
then post back here with your findings

I was going to say 390km doesnt seem to bad, but there are lots of factors that come into play here. It is not as simple as how big your tank is to how many km's you are getting. Consider things like:
Engines fuel economy
Weight of the car
Driving style
Fuel quality
etc

Its not that bad at all for city driving.
I was getting approx that figure as well prior to modding it.
I only ever got 450+ when i was on the freeways.

When i had 15" stocks, i managed to get 450 easy. But ever since i changed to 17s i get about 350ish on the odometer. Does getting bigger rims come into factor when seeing lower k's on a full tank?

the fuel economy is directly dependant on your RIGHT foot.
Also , a full service can do wonders on a cars running.
Try replacing spark plugs / engine oil / oil filter / fuel filter / air filter and you will see the car rev cleaner and feel nicer.
Also , another factor is TYRE PRESSURE. Make sure your tyres are at or above rec. pressure. Deflated tyres can eat away up to (apparently) 15% of economy and also eat your tyres too
